Ofsted Report
Brierley Hill Primary School was inspected by Ofsted in March 2025. The inspection recognised the significant changes that have taken place in the school and the strengthened leadership that is driving improvement.
Inspectors highlighted the higher expectations now in place for learning, behaviour and attendance, and noted that pupils are responding positively. The report also recognises the work being done to strengthen the curriculum and support pupils to catch up with previously missed learning.
Importantly, the inspection confirmed that safeguarding arrangements at the school are effective, and that leaders and governors are committed to improving the school further.
We are proud of the progress that has already been made and remain focused on continuing to strengthen teaching, learning and attendance so that every pupil achieves their very best.

Performance Data
At Brierley Hill Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that every pupil achieves well and leaves us fully prepared for the next stage of their education. Over recent years, the school has been on a clear journey of improvement. Following a period where outcomes declined nationally and locally, leaders have implemented significant changes to strengthen the curriculum, raise expectations and improve the quality of teaching.
The impact of this work can be seen in the strong improvement in outcomes across many areas in 2024–2025, including reading, mathematics, phonics and Early Years outcomes. These improvements reflect the school’s focus on developing strong foundations in reading, writing and mathematics, alongside a carefully sequenced curriculum that supports pupils to build knowledge and skills over time.
While we are proud of the progress made so far, we remain ambitious for our pupils and continue to work relentlessly to further strengthen outcomes for all learners.
